A Columbine Classroom is a play about the Columbine massacre. It’s told by a middle aged man recalling his days as a school boy. It explores the tragedy from a unique position. It’s set in the fictional classroom down the corridor from where the gunfire rang. There was a drama rehearsal taking place in that room.
It employs the play within a play ploy to provide a timely meditation on loss or the loss of chance. It's also a sweeping look at contemporary massacres and how they are viewed as time passes.
The playwright combines music, dance and spoken word to tell the story in a light, accessible and devastatingly reckless way.
The venue is unique and the play is the first thing of its kind to be performed there. Please RSVP at your earliest convenience. There’s limited seating.
