Pirates of the Thames: Secrets of the Deep | 21-23rd Feb 2019
Pirates of the Thames: Secrets of the Deep is an original pantomime of epic proportions, with many, many interweaving threads, but here’s the story in a nutshell: intrepid rookie Jim, who is searching for his parents, meets Captain Jack Daniels who is in turn searching for his wife and son; Captain Morgan and his crew kidnap Princess Bianca, leading Philippa and their cook Ivana to seek Captain Daniels’ help to rescue her; meanwhile both pirate crews are seeking to fulfil separate prophecies to defeat the other, leading to the involvement of the Witch tribes, sea critters, Elvis Presley and the Royal Navy to name but a few. There’s action, there’s questionable romance and there are ship battles with giant manifestations of sea goddesses. This is a panto that breaks all the rules, then glues them back together and hopes no-one will notice.
