Personals is a funny, adult, modern
musical revue from the writers of Channel 4s ‘Friends’.
Set in New York, using intertwined comic and ironic sketches the show looks at
the lives of people looking for love through personal columns and dating
agencies.
In Act 1 we meet a group of people placing a newspaper ad, the typesetter who
has been typing the ads for 15 years, Chuckie the needy teen who places a
regular ad, Kim a recent divorcee, Claire who runs a Video Matching agency,
Louis and his tape recorder and Sam who is spending another night alone.
In Act 2 we follow the characters lives as they reflect on the past and look
forward to finding love, believing that the chances of finding that special
person are somewhere from slim to none but out of the blue someone can fall
into your life and some things don’t end.
