Stephen only took up amateur dramatics in 2008, joining us for that Summer’s production of ‘Oh What A Lovely War’ with dreams of playing Hamlet swirling in his mind (er, wrong show, mate). At the auditions for the following Winter’s panto the result of a slightly deaf director meant he has ended up playing ‘The Dame’. His friends have never looked at him the same way since… By day he works as an accountant in the City, and when not making a fool of himself on stage he can often be found making a fool of himself on a rugby pitch. He used to say that he was only with the Phoenix players for the after show party (good enough for us, we’re not proud!) but he has recently joined that exclusive club of ‘matches’ made within the Phoenix Players so we’re thinking there might have been more to it all the time..!
