Betty Blue Eyes
It is 1947: rationing is in full force and the country’s morale is low. The only beacon of hope is the upcoming wedding of Princess Elizabeth to Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten. The town council of Shepardsford are planning a grand banquet and have acquired an unlicensed pig, Betty, to feed their elite guests. Meanwhile cheerful chiropodist Gilbert Chilvers and his wife Joyce scrape by on meagre pickings as Meat Inspector Wormold looks set to close every butcher’s shop in Yorkshire. Come watch our story unfold as these three parties clash in this farcical tale of pride, prejudice and pork!
A Christmas Karen
In our latest COVID-friendly venture Phoenix and The Wolf have taken Charles Dickens (and maybe just a pinch of Muppet) as our inspiration.
Tales of a Teapot - 2020
Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund
Instead of their annual devised show, Good Wolf People and Phoenix Theatre spent lockdown 2020 creating a series of linked audio plays.
Adapting their theme of "Tea Breaks" they have written and performed stories from the life of a teapot spanning almost 200 years.
Grab a cup of tea and listen along to its adventures - three of which are from the pens of brand new writers!

Hidden Stories - 2019
Angela and tom are facing all of the little challenges that life throws at us. And quite a few big ones. Beginnings and endings. Friends and family. Work. Home. Love. Change.
Surrounding them are the voices of people that we’ve interviewed along the way, telling us their tales of facing the same challenges as Hidden Stories weaves real-life experiences around fictional ones.
Urinetown - 2019
Phoenix Players proudly presents Urinetown! A hilarious send-up of greed, love, revolution (and musicals!), in a time when water is worth its weight in gold.
Pirates of the Thames - 2019
Pirates of the Thames: Secrets of the Deep is an original pantomime of epic proportions, with many, many interweaving threads.
Here’s the story in a nutshell: intrepid rookie Jim, who is searching for his parents, meets Captain Jack Daniels who is in turn searching for his wife and son; Captain Morgan and his crew kidnap Princess Bianca, leading Philippa and their cook Ivana to seek Captain Daniels’ help to rescue her; meanwhile both pirate crews are seeking to fulfil separate prophecies to defeat the other, leading to the involvement of the Witch tribes, sea critters, Elvis Presley and the Royal Navy to name but a few.
There’s action, there’s questionable romance and there are ship battles with giant manifestations of sea goddesses. This is a panto that breaks all the rules, then glues them back together and hopes no-one will notice.
Footloose - 2018
FOOTLOOSE explodes onto the stage with classic 80s anthems including Holding Out For A Hero, Almost Paradise, Let’s Hear It For The Boy, and of course the title track, Footloose.
The Ashes - 2018
1940 - The Blitz begins - months of nightly bombing across the UK - these are the stories of the men and women living in South London.
