A Phoenix Players Cabaret for Theatre North

On Saturday 29th November we produced a fundraising winter cabaret, directed by Mercedes Cooling.

The theme was 'Thank You For the Music' - an evening of songs that have inspired us, brought us joy, given us our voices or brought us out of our shells. It was the chance to sing the kind of songs we never get to do in shows, with a minimal amount of dancing and lots of opportunities to do solos and small group numbers.

Every penny we made went back into doing shows with Phoenix and Theatre North, a Community Interest Company that works to support and celebrate theatre in the North of England. Its goals include helping to make theatre careers a viable option for all young people, showcasing emerging talent, supporting theatres and venues, and encouraging theatre as an art form through school outreach.
